What Unplain does

Unplain turns a doc or AI draft — text, Markdown, or Word — into a publish-ready PDF. It produces the cover, table of contents, pagination, brand styling, and a final call-to-action page automatically, in about five minutes, with no editor and no design skills required.

Automatic cover design

Unplain generates a cover for every document. You can create a cover image with AI or upload your own; the cover layout — title, subtitle, and branding placement — is composed automatically, so you do not lay it out by hand.

Table of contents

Unplain reads the headings in your document and builds a table of contents automatically. The structure of your source doc becomes the structure of the PDF, so reorganizing your headings reorganizes the TOC — no manual linking.

Full Markdown support

Unplain renders Markdown faithfully. Headings, bold, italic, inline code, lists, blockquotes, and links all carry over into the designed PDF, so a Markdown file — or a draft pasted straight from Claude or ChatGPT — becomes a polished PDF without reformatting by hand.

Automatic table layout

Unplain renders large tables automatically. A wide, multi-column table is styled to match your branding and, when it runs longer than a page, splits cleanly at row boundaries across A4 pages — no rows cut in half, and the surrounding text keeps flowing normally.

Pagination and page numbers

Unplain divides your text across pages and adds page numbers. Content that runs long flows onto new pages without manual page breaks, and the numbering and running layout stay consistent from the cover to the final page.

Brand colors and fonts

Set your brand colors, fonts, and accents once and Unplain applies them across the whole PDF. Every export matches your identity, which matters when the PDF carries your name into a reader's inbox.

Final call-to-action page

Every Unplain PDF ends with a dedicated call-to-action page. Because a lead magnet exists to move a reader to a next step, this page is part of the output by default rather than something you remember to add.

No WYSIWYG editor

Unplain has no in-app text editor. You write in your own tools, then hand Unplain a finished document and adjust design settings — not page layout. Editing happens at the settings level: change branding or structure, then re-export.

Supported input formats

Unplain accepts Markdown (.md), Word (.docx), and plain structured text (.txt). You can also paste content directly from an LLM. The maximum upload size is 15 MB.
